Birthday Party & Big Kid Bikes

The kids got "big kid bikes" for their birthday. It was the best gift EVER! They love them. Mike thought they were still too young for them and as he said they will never learn how to ride these Maddie took off pedaling down the sidewalk. No problem at all! Ryan took a day of coaching from Daddy but now they are old pros. They are still learning how to make turns but they're getting there.

The birthday party was a big success. We rented a Batman Bounce House for the backyard and the kids had a great time bouncing in it. We had a craft table, coloring, and play dough time also. We played Pin the Nose on the Pumpkin. We ate pizza and Maddie & Ryan each had their own cake. There were about 20 kids there. We invited Maddie's class, Ryan's class, and their playgroup friends from the neighborhood.

One of Ryan's gifts was a superhero book and cape. He put the cape on right away and went outside to "fly". Poor little guy was so disappointed that he couldn't fly with his cape one. He came back in and said that the cape didn't work because he couldn't fly. He also got a Spiderman phone and loves talking to Spiderman on it. "Spiderman needs your help." "How about some web slinging?"

Maddie got lots of Barbie dolls, her current favorite. She now has 8 dolls and she lines them up to play. She also got a new tea set she likes to play with. Her teacher gave her a talking stuffed dog that she and Ryan have been fighting over.

The day after the party we went through their room and bagged up 3 bags old toys. Two are going to Goodwill and one will go to Tori. Ryan had trouble letting go of his Teletubbies but finally decided that Tori could have them. After all, they'll only be downstairs.

Mike is out of town so we are going to McDonald's for lunch today. Thursday night we are going to the Pumpkin Patch with Ryan's class so hopefully we will get some good pictures.

Maddie's night terrors continue but I will post on that later. She had 2 of them last night. Tori continues to torment me at night as well, last night she was up every 2 hours. I keep telling myself to let her cry it out but just can't do it. Maybe because she's my baby? Ryan has started trying to come to our room at night again too. Will I ever sleep through the night again?
